नेपालको तराई भू–भागमा सिँचाईको प्रमुख स्रोत भूमिगत पानी हो । जसको लागि बोरवेलबाट पानी बाहिर निकाल्न ड्रिलको आवश्यक हुन्छ । परम्परागत रुपमा चलिआएको स्यालो ट्युबवेल बोर ड्रिलिङ प्रविधिमा हातको सहायताले सञ्चालन गरिन्छ, जुन महङ्गो र बढी समय लाग्ने गर्दछ । तसर्थ, सिसा परियोजनाले पावर टिलर प्रयोग गरेर बोरवेल ड्रिल गर्न यान्त्रिक प्रविधिको अङ्गीकार गरेको छ । जसले बोरिङको लागत खर्च कम गर्नुको साथै हाते विधि भन्दा छिटो काम पुरा गर्ने भएकोले समयको पनि बचत हुन्छ ।

सुधारिएको स्यालो ट्युबवेल ड्रिल रिग भनेको पावर टिलरबाट चल्ने ठोकुवा प्रविधि हो, जहाँ ह्वील रिमलाई एउटै ह्वील शाफ्टमा राखेर स्पूलको रुपमा काम गरिन्छ । डोरीको एक छेऊ रिममा बेरिएको हुन्छ र अर्को छेऊ हथौडा वा घनसँग जोडिएको हुन्छ । यसरी हथौडालाई पावर टिलरको क्लच लिभर प्रयोग गरेर स्पूललाई घुमाउन र छोड्न (अनवाइन्ड गर्न) प्रयोग गरिन्छ ।

Sangita Ghimire is one of the 140 community business facilitators (CBFs) that CSISA has promoted as a “last mile chain supply” to facilitate agrovets’ service delivery at farmers’ doorsteps. After participating in training on business management and improved agricultural practices, she started working as a CBF for Madhyapaschim Agrovet Pvt. Ltd. in Surkhet, Nepal.
