"It is easy to kill individuals but you can not kill the ideas. Great empires crumbled, while the ideas survived"
These were the words of a 23 year old boy who sacrificed his life for his country, Sardar Bhagat Singh.
The whole world saw how the 'great British empire' crumbled in front of Bhagat Singh's and his comrades' idea of Purn Swaraj.
This Martyrs' Day we pay our respect to those who sacrificed their life for their country, for our country: Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Shivram Rajguru & Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar.

"Swaraj is my birthright, and I shall have it."

Bal Gangadhar Tilak was the first Indian nationalist to embrace Swaraj as the destiny of the nation. He resented the denial of freedom of expression for nationalists, and the lack of any voice or role for ordinary Indians in the affairs of their nation.
Tilak advocated civil agitation and direct revolution to overthrow the British Empire and the abandonment of all things British.
With the support of valiant leaders like Bipin Chandra Pal and Lala Lajpat Rai (a.k.a Punjab Kesari and Sher-e-Punjab), India's three great states – Maharashtra, Bengal and Punjab shaped the demand of the people and India's nationalism.

This magnificent trio, which is popularly called, Lal-Bal-Pal gave us some of the most dedicated and patriotic sons this country has ever produced.

This Independence Day, remembers their struggle and salutes them for their courage. Let's pay homage to these great idols of Indian History and try to bring the India of their dreams to life.

As another Independence Day dawns upon us, we take a few moments to remember those who laid down their lives so that we could breathe in a free country.
