तारीखी रेत का सुर्ख़ रंग लिए,
पाक शमा सी सादात है।
यादों के लाल संदूक में बंद,
आलते में रंगी रिवायत है।
Seen here is our signature “पाँच पत्ति Lehenga”.
Bringing back the timeless beauty of authentic craftsmanship and rare zardozi techniques, the “पाँच-पत्ति Lehenga” is an ode to the nostalgic bridal-wear of the Indian subcontinent. Hand-cut “succha gota” पत्ति are aesthetically placed in signature Divani “chakor pattern” on a “sindoori” skirt complimented with a “zardozi-dapka” border. The ensemble revisits the “single taar technique” technique of embroidery and combines it with the aged दबका-नक़्शी. Drawing inspiration from the old-world tissue “ओढ़ना”, Divani reinterprets the iconic “सलमा-सितारा ओढ़ना” for this collection. Teamed with a “जालनुमा ज़रदोज़ी चोली” boasting of “बाजूबन्ध” and “मेहराब” pattern. The “पाँच-पत्ति Lehenga” is an ensemble for brides who romanticise nostalgia.

Borrowing colours from the past, this traditional vermilion hued ensemble is an ode to the old school craft of “gota” and “zardozi”. Detailed with “zari” floral motifs and “succha Hyderabadi lampi” on pure silk kurta, and a statement salwaar, this ensemble is a love letter to the past. Finished with kiran and matched to a minimal scalloped “odhana”, the look is finished with a hand knotted parandi.

The term “surma” is derived from the Persian word “surmeh”, traditionally made from soot, often collected from the smoke of burning oil lamps or ghee, mixed with natural oils like almond or castor oil to create a smooth paste.Being a vital component of solah shringaar, Surma signifies auspiciousness and grace, reflecting its deep cultural and aesthetic significance in the rituals of feminine beauty.
