Our Story

Help People In Need was founded by 4 friends who wanted to help the underprivileged family in our state in any way we can.

On June 2017 I saw a kid(Thangminsem Kipgen) with a colostomy case in my watsapp who has his re**um taken out through his belly as he was born with an imperforate anus.and has been pooping from his belly since birth as his parents were not able to afford the treatment needed. I called up my friends whom I shared the news with n the idea that I want to help the kid and was requesting them to join. they said yes with no question asked. We started a page for the kid and we started raising funds for him.. and within two weeks we reach our Goal i.e 2 lakhs i was amazed and the surgery was done and we were happy, and as we were about close the page we got a request from a family (Themneiphal’s Family) ,Themneiphal was sufferuing from RVF(Rectovaginal Fistula) and needed a three stages surgery so we had no choice but to run for them again and we were able to raise funds and have done the first&second surgery and the last surgery is scheduled for march 2018. And while we were handling Themneiphal’s case we got a request from a family with a hydrocephalus case, we were trying to help them too, then after a week, two more cases of hydrocephalus reach us. so it was tough for us as we were all students and we were not a properly formed organisation, We approached KSO-Imphal and Sir Kaybie chongloi for help and they helped us and advise to go on with our work as an organisation since then we started to name ourselves HELP PEOPLE IN NEED. Till now we had help 7 family and spend 10+lakhs on them through crowdfunding, street campaign etc and e thank all of you for believing in us and supporting us to help the underprivileged families in our society.
