Congratulations to AD100 firm Vir Mueller Architects (.mueller) as the Humayun’s Tomb Museum opens in Delhi. Commissioned by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (), architects Pankaj Vir Gupta and Christine Mueller () undertook the design and construction of this Delhi museum and visitors’ center on the site of Humayun’s Tomb—the 16th-century mausoleum of the second Mughal emperor. The museum is the newest addition in the Humayun’s Tomb-Sunder Nursery-Nizamuddin Basti conservation and development project in Delhi.
The team at Vir Mueller Architects saw this as an opportunity to create a bold architectural experience for all visitors, and to enable them to understand the historical and cultural significance of an extraordinary World Heritage Site. They took inspiration from medieval Northern Indian stepwells as well as the traditions of Mughal design for the low-lying structure, designing an ingenious system of skylights, courtyards and lightwells to channel natural light deep into the largely subterranean structure. The project is the first contemporary museum built on the grounds of a UNESCO World Heritage Site anywhere in India.
Humayun’s Tomb Museum opens to public from July 29th.

Moti Dungri has an intriguing history. It is believed that the fort was constructed in 1761 by Seth Jai Ram Paliwal, a wealthy merchant from Jaipur. The name “Moti Dungri” translates to “Hill of Pearls,” and it is said to resemble a pearl drop on a crown, giving it a distinctive appearance.
The fort and temple complex hold significant religious importance. The temple is dedicated to Lord Ganesha, an attracts thousands of devotees who come to offer prayers.
Over time, Moti Dungri has become an iconic landmark of Jaipur.
Its architectural beauty, blending Rajput and Mughal styles, showcases intricate carvings, ornate domes, and stunning frescoes.
The fort offers breathtaking panoramic views and serves as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of Jaipur.
Maharani Gayatri Devi, the former Queen Consort of Jaipur, lived in a palace within the fort premises. Her presence added a royal connection to Moti Dungri's history.
