Your child is extraordinary, and this camp is built around exactly that. 🐦

Thrive on the Spectrum is a real-world adventure programme for children with Autism, focused on the everyday skills that matter most. Here's what they'll experience:

🍳 Kitchen Adventures β€” Children follow recipes, measure ingredients and work together to create something delicious. Along the way, they practise turn-taking, following instructions and the kind of back-and-forth communication that happens naturally in a shared activity.

🍽️ Restaurant Expeditions β€” From reading a menu to placing an order, children navigate real dining experiences with guided support β€” building social confidence, understanding expectations and learning how to communicate in public settings.

πŸ›’ Market Missions β€” On supported shopping trips, children create lists, find items, handle money and interact with store staff β€” developing practical independence in a structured, real-world environment.

πŸ“š Story-to-Life Connections β€” Books and stories are brought into real experiences, helping children build comprehension in a way that is meaningful and memorable, rather than abstract.

🀝 Sensory-Friendly Socials β€” In a calm, regulated environment, children practise conversation starters, active listening and friendship-building β€” the social building blocks that help them connect with peers with greater ease and confidence.

Does your child bump into things, struggle with scissors, or find it hard to sit still and focus? You're not alone β€” and there's a camp designed just for them. πŸƒ

The Neuromove Camp brings occupational therapy to life through movement, play and creative activities. Here's how it helps:

πŸƒ Body Awareness & Coordination β€” Obstacle courses, balance activities and movement challenges help children understand where their body is in space, reducing clumsiness and building physical confidence in everyday situations.

βœ‚οΈ Fine Motor Strength β€” Through fun, hands-on stations, children strengthen the small muscles in their fingers and hands β€” building the skills needed for everyday tasks like buttoning clothes, using scissors and handling everyday objects independently.

πŸ–ŠοΈ Handwriting & Hand Control β€” Art-based projects and creative activities develop the grip strength, pencil pressure and hand control that form the foundation for legible, comfortable writing.

🌬️ Emotional Regulation & Sensory Processing β€” Carefully designed sensory exploration and calming activities help children identify how they feel in their body and develop practical strategies to self-regulate when emotions or sensory input feel overwhelming.

🎯 Focus & Attention β€” Structured movement breaks and core-strengthening games help children build the physical stamina and neurological readiness needed to sit, attend and engage in learning environments.

Some moments feel especially meaningful because they bring together inspiration, shared values, and lived practice in one space.

Day 1 with Sally Haughey at Learning Matters was one of those moments for us.

From joining our Parent Orientation with 60+ parents, to spending time with our team of educators at Green Park, to walking through our curated playscapes - her presence made the day feel deeply affirming. We have long been inspired by Sally’s work and her deep commitment to child-led learning, so to host her here, in our spaces, with our community, means a great deal to us.

It was a day of exchange, reflection, and resonance, and a reminder of how powerful it is when people who care deeply about children and childhood come together.
