In 2018, we introduced Ema Datshi to our menu—at a time when most of our guests from North India were familiar with Thai and Nepalese food, but not Bhutanese cuisine. Back then, we served a milder, tweaked version because the bold spice and pungent local cheese (churpi in Nepali, ema in Bhutanese) were unfamiliar to many families.

Fast forward to today—thanks to greater awareness (and a little help from Deepika Padukone 😉)—Ema Datshi is now celebrated for what it truly is. So we’ve gone back to its authentic roots.

✨ You can still customize it:
– Ask your server to make it milder or spicier (the Bhutanese way 🔥).
– Choose between churpi-ema or processed cheese.

The price stays the same, but our promise is to serve you a dish that’s closer to the Bhutanese heart. 💛
