Assam Weeps for Zubeen Da 💔

Today Guwahati remained closed, Gauripur was closed, almost every district across Assam came to a standstill to pay respect to our beloved Zubeen Garg. People everywhere mourned, cried, and remembered the man whose voice was the heartbeat of Assam.

But I felt very bad seeing that our Alomganj market was open as usual. Why couldn’t we, the people and business association of Alomganj, give just one day to show our respect to Zubeen Da? He was not only a singer — he was an emotion, a cultural icon who gave us identity and pride.

When every corner of Assam stood united in grief, Alomganj should not have remained indifferent. Let us not forget: to honor Zubeen Da is to honor Assam itself.

👉 I sincerely request the business association of Alomganj to please keep all shops closed for at least one day tomorrow, to show our collective respect to Zubeen Da.
