BARUIPUR GIRL FOUND DEAD; MOB LYNCHES SUSPECT, POLICE ARREST FOUR IN SOUTH 24 PARGANAS

The body of an 11-year-old girl who went missing a day earlier was recovered from Surjyapur Haat area in Baruipur, West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, triggering widespread unrest. The girl had reportedly gone missing after leaving home to buy a gift, with family members alleging she was abducted by four people.
Following the discovery of her body, angry locals staged protests, blocked roads, and damaged police vehicles. In the ensuing violence, a man accused of involvement in the crime was lynched by a mob. Police have since arrested four individuals in connection with the case and launched a full investigation, while the body has been sent for post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death and whether sexual assault occurred.
Authorities have appealed for calm and assured strict legal action against all those involved.
