Significance of the Initiative
The Special Numeracy Programme (SNP) is a focused intervention by SCERT Sikkim aimed at building strong mathematical foundations among early grade learners. Attendance at the cluster-level workshops was made mandatory for all concerned mathematics teachers, underscoring the seriousness with which SCERT is pursuing learning outcomes at the foundational stage. The cluster-level format ensures that training reaches teachers in their own localities, reducing logistical barriers and enabling more effective, sustained professional development.
SCERT Sikkim remains committed to empowering every teacher and, through them, every child across the state with quality numeracy skills – true to its motto: “Empowering Society through Education.”
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Rajiv Philip, Deputy Director, SCERT in collaboration with Jodo Gyan, New Delhi.
