Q.- What is BIOS & BIOS Firmware in computer ?
- Full form of BIOS is Basic Input Output System.
- BIOS is a hardware chip installed on the motherboard and BIOS Firmware is a system software installed by motherboard manufacturing company.
- Whenever you start a Computer 1st BIOS gets activated and check all input & output devices connected to the motherboard called as POST (Power On Self Test) and then computer starts loading OS or show error if any.
- We can change some of the settings of BIOS in BIOS menu such as time, system configuration, storage configuration, boot sequence, etc.
- While your computer shutting down BIOS Firmware saves the privious settings and information about devices that are connected recently for the next booting process.
- BIOS Settings are very crucial to understand and incorrect settings may cause Computer FAILURE.
Don't update or change settings in BIOS unless you have good knowledge about it.
Refer owners manual or contact professionals for help.
