In Odisha’s Keonjhar district, tribal man Jitu Munda reportedly exhumed his deceased sister’s skeleton and carried it to a bank to withdraw ₹19,300 from her account. He did this to prove her identity and claim the money, sparking outrage online.

Kalaburagi, March 27: Renowned artist and historian Mohammed Ayazuddin Patel was honoured with the prestigious Roshnii Award 2026 at White Petals, Bengaluru, on Thursday.
The award was presented in recognition of Mr. Patel’s significant contributions to the fields of art, culture, and heritage over the past three decades. The honour was conferred during an Eid Milan program. Ayazuddin Patel is one among 11 achievers from the state.
The award was presented by Karnataka Legislative Assembly Speaker U.T. Khader, Booker Prize awardee Banu Mushtaq, and Mehroz Khan, organiser of the event and State Rank Minister for Karnataka’s Five Guarantees initiative.
Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including Gulbarga North MLA Kaneez Fatima, Congress youth leader Faraz Ul Islam, Karnataka Five Guarantees Chairman (Kalaburagi Taluka) Ahmer Islam, MLA Raheem Khan, Minister H.K. Patil, Satish Jarkiholi, C.M. Ibrahim, Roshan Baig, and others.

Apne jazbati mukhtasar khitab mein Faizy ne kaha ke qaid ki salakhen nazariyat ko qaid nahi kar sakti. Unhon ne ahad kiya ke jamhooriyat, samaji insaaf aur aaini huqooq ki jad-o-jehad pehle se zyada quwwat aur inquilabi jazbe ke saath jari rahegi.
