👉 Phrase (वाक्यांश) - शब्दों का वह समूह जिसमें finite verb ना हो अर्थात जिस का भाव तो हो किंतु जिसमें पूरे भाव व्यक्त ना हो ,Phrase कहलाता है |
Example-
1. They rested at sunset. (at sunset)
2. I have a chain of gold. (of gold)
3. He met a girl with blue eyes. (with blue eyes)

Clause (उपवाक्य) - शब्दों का वह समूह जिसमें finite verb हो और किसी वाक्य का भाग हो,clause( उपवाक्य) कहलाता है|
Example -

3.He met a girl whose eyes were blue.
4.They rested when evening came.
उपरोक्त वाक्यों में शब्द a chain of gold ,which is made of gold ,whose eyes were blue,when evening came उपवाक्य है।

कर्म के होने या ना होने के आधार पर verb दो प्रकार की होती है |
1.Transitive Verb ( सकर्मक क्रिया)
2.Intransitive Verb( अकर्मक क्रिया)

1.Transitive Verb (सकर्मक क्रिया )
ऐसे क्रिया जिसमें कर्म का होना पाया जाता है,Transitive Verb ( सकर्मक क्रिया) कहलाती है|
Example -
1. The shot sank the ship. ( the ship)
2. The driver stopped the train.(the
train)
3. I m going to school. ( to school)
4. Rishikesh is a good boy.(a good
boy)
उपरोक्त वाक्यों में 'the ship' and 'the train' ,to school,a good boy कर्म है अर्थात इन वाक्यों में कर्म पाया गया है|

2.Intransitive Verb (अकर्मक क्रिया )
ऐसी क्रिया जिसमें कर्म का ना होना
पाया जाए , Intransitive Verb (अकर्मक क्रिया) कहलाती है|
Example -
1 the ship sank rapidly
2. The train stopped
3. Mohan love
4. Guddi dance age
उपरोक्त वाक्यों से स्पष्ट होता है कि इस वाक्य में कोई कर्म नहीं है ।
Note * किसी भी क्रिया के साथ दो से अधिक Object नहीं आते हैं |कुछ ऐसी क्रियाएं जैसे ask,give,offer,promise,tell आदि के साथ दो कर्म आ जाते हैं|

👉 Cognate and Adverbial.
Object
Cognate- Cognate शब्द का अर्थ Akin or Similar ( समान मिलता-जुलता) होता है |अर्थात ऐसा वाक्य जिसमें मिलता-जुलता Object (कर्म) आते हैं |
जैसे - I have faught a good fight मे caught के साथ fight आया है अर्थात मिलता-जुलता क्रिया के साथ कर्म को कॉग्नेट कहते हैं|
Example-
1. She sighed a deed sigh. ( sigh)
2. Binni sang a sweet song. (song)
3. He ran a race. (race)
उपरोक्त उदाहरण से स्पष्ट है कि sigh ,song and race को 'Cognate' कहते है |

👉 Adverbial Object - ऐसा वाक्य जिसमें Intransitive Verb ( अकर्मक क्रिया) के साथ place (home),distance (mile) ,time (year,moment ) प्रकट हो ,Adverbial Object का समावेश होता है |
Example-
1 he went home. (home)
2. He swam a mile .(mile)
3. He held the post 10 years .( years)
4. I can't wait a moment longer.(moment).
उपरोक्त वाक्यों में home ,mile ,years and moment ' Adverbial Object 'है |
