Learn when to say "no."

One of the biggest lessons I've learned in business is that...

Not all business is good business.

I get it. It's super easy to want to work with anyone that's willing to throw money at you...

But if you ever get a bad gut feeling that a prospect is going to be a bad client, chances are it's probably true.

When it comes to more of the "logical" things, make sure you ask good qualifying questions...

Such as:

-"What are you currently doing for marketing?"

-"Where are you currently at with your marketing?"

-'What are your goals for the next 3 months?"

-"What is your capacity for new clients every month?"

-"Do you have the systems in place to support those numbers?"

You get the point.

Asides from the logical aspects, I only work with clients who I get along with.

If I see that I can build a good relationship with them outside of business, chances are they'll be a good client.

I like having fun with my clients, joking around, being sarcastic, even visiting them every once in a while.

Not only that, see if they share a similar culture or values as your agencies.

There are too many ideal clients in the world to be wasting your time, energy, and resources with the headaches.
