Gowtham Model Schools

Gowtham Model School scored a 11-run win over Delhi Public School (Nacharam) to win the HCA's U-14 Inter-School & District tournament here on Friday.

Electing to bat in the final, Gowtham made a modest 128 as the DPS bowlers kept a tight leash on the scoring. P Sumeeth took four for 14 and Manish got three for 14.

However, DPS batsmen too found the going tough and were bowled out for 117 with S Suraj taking three for 13. Aaron George was the top scorer with 26, India player Ambati Rayudu was the chief guest and gave away the trophy to the winning team.

Brief scores: Gowtham Model School 128 in 41.1 overs (Saketh Reddy 31; Manish 3/14, P Sumeeth 4/24) bt Delhi Public School 117 in 44.1 overs (Aaron George 26; S Suraj 3/13).
