As per our understanding in Linux kernel internals, we identified six groups:
1. Booting
2. Process Management and Scheduling
3. Interrupt Management
4. Memory Management
5. VFS
6. IPC

Any thing will be covered in these 6 groups only. Device Drivers are separate, of-course those are part of kernel , those utilize kernel services. I think it is an Divide and rule... :-)
