Do you have a phone interview scheduled?

When the recruiter or hiring manager phones you, don't just answer the phone saying "Hello?" Answer the phone with something like "This is Ailsa" or "Ailsa Podesto speaking" - well, no, don't answer me, but fill in your name.

There are a few reasons for this:
(1)It confirms that they reached the proper person,
(2) it's more professional than just a basic "hello", and (3) if you have a challenging name, it gives the person calling you the clue on how to pronounce it!
