*SAMBA POLICE ORGANISES THANA DIWAS AT POLICE STATION SAMBA, SEEKS PUBLIC COOPERATION IN ITS NASHA MUKT ABHIYAN*
Samba: April 16, 2026: Samba Police today organized Thana Diwas at Police Station Samba and sought public cooperation to eradicate drug menace from the society under its Nasha Mukt Abhiyan. The programme witnessed active participation from various sections of society, including advocates, NGOs, members of civil society, Beopar Mandal, Bakerwal community members, other respectable persons and local residents of the area.
The objective of organizing Thana Diwas was to interact with the general public, understand their problems and reinforce confidence among citizens that the Police is committed to fighting crime and providing a safe and secure environment to law-abiding people.
Speaking on the occasion, the Addl. SP Samba appealed to the public to join hands with Samba Police in its Nasha Mukt Abhiyan, launched to build a drug-free society. Various anti-drug awareness and youth engagement programmes are being conducted across the district by Samba Police under Nasha Mukt Abhiyan to keep the youth away from drug abuse and channelize their energy in the right direction.
On the occasion, Samba Police advised citizens to remain vigilant and install CCTV cameras in their residential as well as commercial premises to enhance security. Citizens were also urged to ensure verification of tenants and workers through their nearest Police Stations.
During the programme, Police Officers patiently listened to the issues and concerns raised by the participants and assured them that their genuine grievances would be addressed.
A pledge was also taken by participants to combat drug abuse and contribute towards building a safer and healthier society.
On the occasion, DySP DAR Samba, SHO PS Samba, Incharge PP Rakh Amb Talli, Incharge PP SIDCO and other Police Officers were also present.
Similar Thana Diwas programmes were also conducted at other Police Stations of district Samba.
