Seminar cm Presentation session on topic "Industrial automation" was organized by Instrumentation and control Engineering department of Government Polytechnic Jammu in collaboration with Race automation Jammu under the guidance of Er. Arun Bangotra Principal Government Polytechnic Jammu and Er. Jasdeep Kour H.O.D instrumentation and control Engineering. Er Ashok verma coordinated the said event and gave welcome speech and explain students regarding job opportunities in the field of industrial automation. Er Monik kapoor and Er Dev sawhney were industrial Experts from race automation and the resource Person for the Seminar. The sessions involves discussions, presentations, and demonstrations on the use of advanced technologies, systems, and equipment to control and optimize industrial processes with minimal human intervention. The seminar is usually attended by faculty/ staff and students to stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and applications in automation.
Key Components of the Seminar:
1. Introduction to Industrial Automation:- Definition and importance of automation in industries.Historical development and current trends. Benefits: increased efficiency, safety, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
2. Core Technologies in Industrial Automation
Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs): Basics and applications in controlling machinery. Human-Machine Interface (HMI): Real-time monitoring and control systems. Sensors and Actuators: Role in feedback and ex*****on. Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA): Data collection and centralized control.
3. Applications of Industrial Automation. Manufacturing (automobile assembly lines, electronics). Process industries (oil and gas, chemicals). Warehousing and logistics (automated storage and retrieval). Agriculture (precision farming).
4.Emerging Trends in Automation:- Industry 4.0: Integration of IoT, AI, and Big Data in industrial settings. Machine Learning and AI: Predictive maintenance and optimization. Digital Twins: Real-time simulation of systems for monitoring.

Today worthy Principal Er. Arun Bangotra sir took a review meeting with the staff of Travel and tourism department for the session ND 2024. All the agenda points were discussed with the incharge Department Mr. Amit kumar sharma along with the faculty. Principal sir was satisfied with the working of the faculty and apprised to give first hand industry exposure to students as per the demand of the curriculum. Meeting ended with submission of agenda points to worthy principal sir.
