Devotees celebrate by purchasing gold, silver, or utensils—symbols of good fortune and abundance. Homes glow with diyas, prayers fill the air, and families unite to welcome prosperity, positivity, and happiness for the year ahead.

India celebrates Gandhi Jayanti every year on October 2nd for the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi who is remembered as Father of the Nation. Mahatma Gandhi also known as Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi dedicated his life to truth (Satya), non-violence (Ahimsa), and simplicity. His principles about peace and tolerance are something that guided India’s independence movement and continues to inspire the youth of today.

On this Gandhi Jayanti, let us remember the man who inspired millions with truth and non-violence. Wishing you peace and harmony today and always.
