UPSC CANCELS PUJA KHEDKAR'S CANDIDATURE AND BARS HER FROM FUTURE EXAMS

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Wednesday
cancelled probationary IAS officer Puja Manorama Dilip Khedkar’s provisional candidature of the Civil Services Examination (CSE)-2022 and debarred her from all future exams or selections of the commission.

The decision was taken by UPSC after carefully examining the
available records and finding her guilty of acting in contravention of provisions of the CSE-2022 rules.

Ruckus occurred inside the courtroom on Monday after a section of the ruling government lawyers prevented Justice Mantha from discharging his duties.

The ruckus had stopped the proceedings in Justice Mantha's courtroom.

Several posters describing Justice Mantha as a "disgrace in the name of judiciary' were spotted.

As per media reports, subsequently Justice Rajasekhar Mantha has initiated criminal contempt proceedings against those lawyers.

Justice Mantha had earlier stayed around 20-odd FIRs against West Bengal Leader of Opposition and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Suvendu Adhikari.

Also, the judge had removed Trinamool Congress national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee's sister-in-law Maneka Gambhir's shield from arrest in a money laundering case.
