CALCUTTA RESCUE IMMERSES INTO FOUR DECADES OF HOLISTIC SERVICE FOR THE BETTERMENT OF THE LIVES OF SLUM DWELLERS IN AND AROUND KOLKATA.

Calcutta Rescue started in 1979 when a British doctor, Jack Preger M.B.E. started a street clinic on Middleton Row to treat the most needy and poorest of the people living on the streets and in the slums of Kolkata & parts of rural West Bengal.

We work to significantly enhance the well-being, learning and living standards of the poorest communities.

We serve people who are helped by none and “rescue” people from the consequences of ill-health, illiteracy and poverty by providing good healthcare, quality education for children and development of skills which would ultimately lead to employment opportunities and a stable income.
