In this mad world of information, let’s tackle the concept of “Snacks” and why it’s worth considering!

Does snacking cause weight gain🤷‍♂️?

The query remains fresh, Research conducted on longer periods of time mostly shows the least effect on the overall weight/ body composition. but the prime culprit is quantity and quality.

👍Here’s a general rule of thumb - Aim for whole foods (fruits, veggies, nuts etc) and focus on the amount that you consume.

Ideally, healthy snacks can be consumed up to twice a day and even during hunger pangs as these have the least effect on your blood sugar levels.

But in the case of processed foods or ultra-processed ones the less consumption in terms of quantity and frequency the better in terms of weight management.

How to make it work for you: 🙌

- Choose whole over the dead: go for unsweetened yoghurt, nut butter, plain popcorn etc.
- It’s about the time: Avoid snacks before going to bed and before dinner.
- The timing sweet spot: Aim to eat during your active period more likely in the daytime.
- Cut the ties: restrict the tendency to form a snacking habit.
