A capacity building session on sustainable menstrual hygiene was conducted for the Haritha Karma Sena members of Nedumangad Municipality, focusing on awareness as well as practical, community-level solutions.
The session covered key aspects of menstrual hygiene management along with an introduction to various sustainable menstrual products, enabling participants to explore eco-friendly alternatives.
Jointly organised by and .initiative , the initiative aimed to strengthen grassroots capacity in sustainable and healthy menstruation.
The session was led by , Co-founder of Menstruation Matters Collective and a Facilitative Committee Member of the UNFCCC.
She highlighted the health and environmental impacts of conventional sanitary pads, emphasized the importance of adopting sustainable alternatives, and addressed the social taboos surrounding menstruation, encouraging open dialogue and informed choices.
The event was seamlessly coordinated by , Research Head at Bring Back Green Foundation, in collaboration with the Greenworms team.
