What is Clawdbot (Moltbot), and why is everyone screaming about it?

​Imagine an AI that doesn’t just chat with you, but actually does things for you.

That was the viral promise of Clawdbot. Unlike ChatGPT, which stays inside a browser tab, Clawdbot lives on your computer and connects directly to your personal apps.

​What could it actually do? (The "Cool" Part)
​Email Management: You could message it on WhatsApp saying, "Find the flight confirmation in my email and add it to my calendar," and it would do it instantly.

​Browser Control: You could ask it to "Go to Amazon, find the cheapest 4K monitor, and send me the link."

​System Tasks: It could run shell commands, move files, or summarize a long PDF you just downloaded.

The project went viral so fast it hit a massive wall of drama and security issues:

​Legal & Identity Crisis: Anthropic (the makers of Claude AI) sent a legal notice, forcing a 5 AM community name change to Moltbot. In the rush, the creator’s GitHub was briefly hijacked by crypto scammers!

​The Tech Warning: Security experts (like those at InfoStealers) issued a major alert.

They found that the bot stores your sensitive "memories," user profiles, and login tokens in plaintext files.

​"Cognitive Context Theft": This is the scary part. Because the AI is "always listening" to your messages to help you, hackers could use "prompt injection" (hidden commands in a fake email or PDF) to trick the AI into sending your private data to them.
