"Knowledge is power," they say. What they don't say, however, is what knowledge is? Is knowledge being in the top five percentile of your class, or is it opting for science as opposed to humanities when we are 16 years old, an age when any other decisions we make are treated with a raised eyebrow but obviously, we are supposed to know what we want to do academically for the rest of our life?

WHAT IS THE K -12 PROGRAM?

The K to 12 Program covers Kindergarten and 12 years of basic education (six years of primary education, four years of Junior High School, and two years of Senior High School [SHS]) to provide sufficient time for mastery of concepts and skills, develop lifelong learners, and prepare graduates for tertiary education, middle-level skills development, employment, and entrepreneurship.
