💭Textile production is estimated to be responsible for about 20% of global clean water pollution from dyeing and finishing products. In India, around 70% of untreated industrial waste, including from textile factories finds its way into our water bodies.

💭Forests and farms are converting into factory farms exacerbates deforestation and water scarcity, and is responsible for methane and nitrous oxide pollution that is detrimental to the planet.

💭Polyester and other synthetic fibres such as nylon are major contributors of microplastic pollution in the environment.

💭Power looms reduced demand for skilled handweavers and gradually losing traditional crafts and identity of communities. Powerloom drastically increased the speed of textile production.

💭Of the 100 billion garments produced each year, 92 million tonnes end up in landfills.
