ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਹੈ 21 ਫਰਵਰੀ- ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲੀਆਂ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ 6900 ਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸਾਡੀ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ "ਪੰਜਾਬੀ" ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦਸਵੀਂ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ,, ਸੰਸਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ 12 ਕ੍ਰੋੜ ਲੋਕ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ - ਇਸਦਾ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਤੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਮਾਣਮੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
ਯੂਨੇਸਕੋ ਵਲੋਂ ਨਵੰਬਰ 1999 ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਹੋਇਆ ਅੰਤਰ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਦਿਵਸ ਜਿਥੇ ਮਾਂ ਬੋਲੀ ਦੀ ਮਹੱਤਤਾ ਤੇ ਪਹਿਚਾਣ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ,, ਉਥੇ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰਕ ਵਿਭਿੰਨਤਾ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਭਾਸ਼ਾਵਾਦ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵੀ ਚੇਤਨਤਾ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ- ਇਸ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਥੀਮ ਹੈ ,, " ਬਹੁਭਾਸ਼ਾਈ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਹੀ ਅੰਤਰ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਦਾ ਸਤੰਬ ਹੈ_* "
