DELHI'S BIG EV PUSH
Under the proposed EV policy, new petrol bike and scooter registrations could end from April 1. 2028. After that, only electric two-wheelers would be eligible for new reqistration.
The move is aimed at cutting air pollution, boosting clean transportation, and acceleratina India's shift toward electric mobility. The policy also includes EV-only registration rules for certain three-wheelers from 2027, along with charging infrastructure upgrades and buyer incentives.
In short: Delhi is preparing for a future where electric vehicles become the new normal. while petrol two-wheelers are gradually phased out of the registration system.
