Axis Bank Foundation
Axis Bank Foundation (ABF), a registered trust, was formed in 2006 to work with communities
We’re creating a stronger safety net for rural families by developing a basket of livelihoods—diverse income sources that empower communities beyond traditional agriculture. Floriculture is a part of this shift, providing jobs, supplementing household income, and strengthening local economies.
Through our Sustainable Livelihood Programme, we work with rural communities, along with our partners, to introduce flower farming. It is an alternate income-generating avenue and also serves as a trap crop that naturally manages pests and protects the main food crops. The programme’s training sessions equip rural communities with new skills, enabling them to thrive and grow.

Have you seen the Pantone Colour of the Year yet? - Mocha Mousse
Mocha Mousse feels so familiar – it instantly reminds us of this rural Indian landscape!
We couldn’t help but notice the striking resemblance between our earthy मिट्टी tones and this rich, warm colour.
Here’s a short snippet of a village space in the colour Mocha Mousse. These spaces foster social interaction, facilitate the exchange of ideas and news, and play a pivotal role in community decision-making, enabling community members to come together and address important issues.

Horticulture is an income-generating pathway adopted by an increasing number of families in rural India, which reduces migration, provides year-round income, and creates countless growth opportunities. With better farming techniques, strong market linkages, and government support, it is enabling rural areas to thrive.
In regions where horticulture was once unfamiliar, training programmes have been crucial. By equipping farmers with hands-on knowledge and skills, they are now successfully cultivating high-value crops and transforming their agricultural practices.
These training initiatives which are part of the Sustainable Livelihood Programme have also connected farmers to various government schemes, giving them access to financial support and creating long-term economic opportunities.
