It is an artistic replica of the southern hemisphere of the Moon.
Conceptualised by Asian Paints and Sideways, and brought to life by St+art India, with support from the Nehru Centre, the Lunar Dome is a tribute to the ISRO - Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) – the space agency of the government of India which has been a constant source of pride and inspiration for every Indian.

Over the years, ISRO has spearheaded several scientific breakthroughs, single-handedly placing India in an elite league of space faring nations. From discovering water on the Moon and being the first space agency in Asia to reach Mars orbit, to creating a world record for releasing the maximum number of satellites in orbit (104) in a single launch, ISRO has brought pride to each and every Indian by soaring high and reaching for infinity in innovative ways. honouring the pride was to be launched just after mission as a tribute to ISRO, but the rains played spoilsport.

A white dome on the terrace of Mumbai’s Nehru Planetarium – known for its extraordinary space installations and comprehensive roaster of astronomy-related events, served as the perfect setting to create a Moon in Mumbai. While celebrating ISRO’s exemplary work over the years, it also stands as an emblem of all the future achievements they have in store for us as a nation.

A viewing gallery has also been set up at the Nehru Centre for an unhindered & unforgettable viewing experience, Entry to which is Free. It will be open from 11am to 9.30pm, on all days of the week.
For those dreaming to reach the moon, can now view it right at the Nehru Centre premises, a new attraction added to Mumbai.
