Oracle Database 23c Free – Developer Release is a powerful tool designed to aid developers in creating robust, scalable, and secure applications.

Oracle Database 23c Free has many features that developers can leverage without additional cost. These features are designed to enhance your applications’ performance, scalability, and security.

I am trying to explain some of the critical free-to-use features:

SQLJ: This feature is part of the development platform and is available with Oracle Database 23c Free.

Online Index Rebuild and Online Table Organization: These features are part of the high availability category and are available with Oracle Database 23c Free.

Database Gateways: Database Gateway for ODBC is included with Oracle Database 23c Free. All other Database Gateway products are available with Oracle Database 23c Free but require a separate product license.

Oracle Diagnostics Pack and Tuning Pack: These management packs are free with Oracle Database 23c.

Oracle Advanced Compression and Oracle Advanced Security: These options are included in Oracle Database 23c Free, providing advanced row compression, LOB compression, and deduplication.

Oracle Database In-Memory: This feature allows you to experiment with Oracle Database In-Memory features without purchasing the Oracle Database In-Memory option.

Oracle Partitioning: This feature is available with Oracle Database 23c Free, allowing for table partitions and subpartitions, global and local index partitions and subpartitions.

Below mentioned features you can use with license like earlier release.

While Oracle Database 23c Free offers a wide range of features, some are not free. These features require additional licensing.

Automatic Materialized Views, Temporary Tablespace Shrink, Undo Tablespace Shrink, Zone Maps, and Cache Fusion Hardening: These features are part of the autonomous category and unavailable with Oracle Database 23c Free.

Oracle Multitenant – # of PDBs: This feature is part of the consolidation category and unavailable with Oracle Database 23c Free.

Application Continuity, Oracle Sharding, Oracle Fail Safe, Oracle RAC One Node, and Standard Edition High Availability: These features are part of the high availability category and are unavailable with Oracle Database 23c Free.

Oracle Cloud Management Pack for Oracle Database, Oracle Data Masking and Subsetting Pack, and Oracle Database Lifecycle Management Pack for

Oracle Database: These management packs are unavailable with Oracle Database 23c Free.

Oracle Real Application Clusters (Oracle RAC), Automatic Workload Management, and Quality of Service Management: These features are part of the scalability category and unavailable with Oracle Database 23c Free.
