Morning Prayer

With Jesus in the morning

Surrendering Our Life

With joyful and open hearts, we begin this new day and turn toward your light and your Word, Jesus Christ. This day is dedicated to the remembrance of your Resurrection.

The words Jesus speaks in the Gospel may seem harsh: “Whoever finds his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Mt 10:37–42)

Are we willing to let go of our lives and entrust them entirely to God? Do we believe that He shows us the true path to life?

We live this day as prayer and recite the Offering Prayer to give everything to God.

Trusting in the Word

This morning, we remember your mercy. Your Heart is open to us and turned toward us with love. This awareness fills us with joy and gratitude.

In the Gospel, we hear the centurion asking Jesus to heal his servant: “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof; but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.” (Mt 8:5–17)

At every Eucharist, we speak these words before Communion. Help us, Lord, to trust in your healing word.

United with the Pope’s Worldwide Prayer Network, we pray the Offering Prayer and allow ourselves to be sent out into the world.

Becoming Pure

On this new day, we place ourselves under the light of your mercy and make room for you within us.

After the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus heals a l***r with these words: “I will it; be cleansed.” (Mt 8:1–4)

Lord, to You we can show what hurts us, holds us back, and paralyzes us. To You we can entrust what is impure in us and allow ourselves to be purified more and more by Your Word and by Your touch.

Together with the Prayer Network, we pray the Offering Prayer.

Everyone who listens to these words of mine and acts on them will be like a wise man who built his house on rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not collapse.
