B P Baria Science Institute Navsari

A guest lecture on “Bioinformatics” was successfully organized by the Department of Microbiology, B. P. Baria Science Institute, Navsari, on 3rd January 2026. The lecture was delivered by Dr. Murtaza Hajoori, a distinguished academician from Bhagwan Mahavir University. The session aimed to introduce students to the fundamentals of Bioinformatics and its growing importance in modern biological sciences, especially in microbiology, genomics, and biotechnology. Dr. Hajoori explained key concepts such as biological databases, sequence alignment, and applications of Bioinformatics tools in research and diagnostics. He also highlighted career opportunities and future prospects in the field, which motivated and inspired the students. The lecture was interactive, with students engaging enthusiastically during the question-and-answer session.

Under Microbiology society of B. P. Baria Science Institute, Navsari, an innovative and skill-based activity titled "Microbial Munchies" was organized for the students of T.Y. B.Sc. Microbiology. Objective of the Activity is to understand the role of beneficial microorganisms in improving digestion, nutrient absorption, and gut health. The products were prepared using safe and beneficial microorganisms, ensuring hygienic conditions and standard fermentation practices.
