In a patriarchal society like ours, women and girls often lack a private and safe place where they feel comfortable enough to share their troubles and struggles and seek community outside the confines of their homes. Thus, the need to have a safe space of one’s own.

Azad’s first Community Resource Center in Jhalana Doongari, Jaipur aims to be that space. A place to learn, share, and access support, for women and girls, free of any judgement or fear.

Our community center will also work as a resource hub and mentoring platform for women in non-traditional professions, and support zone for survivors of gender-based violence.

With this, we take one step forward to create inclusive spaces in the communities we work in.

We are inspired by our partners who are walking alongside us, taking the message of to the ground through street rallies, youth dialogues, care work activities like roti-making, community workshops, and honest conversations in everyday spaces.

Every broom picked up, every circle of dialogue, and every young mind that begins to question unequal norms is a step towards bringing us closer to equality together.
