China just made a huge leap in mining technology.
At over 18,000 feet above sea level — where oxygen is half normal and conditions are extreme — China has successfully tested 5G-controlled autonomous mining trucks.
Operating in the Huoshaoyun lead-zinc mine deep in the Kunlun Mountains, these unmanned trucks run entirely without drivers, powered by real-time 5G networks, AI navigation, and multi-sensor fusion.
They can haul, load, and coordinate with excavators through cloud systems — 24/7 — even in freezing temperatures and permafrost.
