That’s done using ACL (Access Control List).
ACL is one of the most important concepts in networking and cybersecurity.

ACL is a set of rules used to:

✔ Permit traffic
✔ Deny traffic
✔ Filter packets

👉 Based on IP address, protocol, or port number

🔹 𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗖𝗟 𝗶𝘀 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗱

✔ Improve security
✔ Control network access
✔ Restrict unwanted traffic
✔ Protect sensitive resources

Filters using source IP address only
Example: Permit or deny a network

Filters using:
• Source IP
• Destination IP
• Protocol
• Port number

More advanced filtering
