We often talk only about "brands", but the design and metallurgical characteristics significantly affect the mechanical behavior of NiTi rotary instruments. Crystallographic structure and phase transition temperatures strongly influence cyclic fatigue resistance, while cross-sectional design primarily impact torsional properties of these new generation NITI files.

In curved canals, instruments are exposed simultaneously to torsional and flexural stresses. Evaluating the cyclic and torsional properties of NiTi instruments is essential for clinicians to understand their mechanical behavior and predict their resistance to fatigue. As a result, various modifications have been introduced in instrument design (such as taper, core diameter, tip size, spiral flutes, and cross-section), as well as in surface and thermal treatments, to enhance their mechanical properties and clinical performance.

It's important for every clinician to deal with these curves after a complete understanding of the metallurgy!! Stop using Tools without knowing them!!
