वर्ष २०१७ में यूनेस्को की प्रतिनिधि सूची में कुम्भ पर्व को मानवता की अमूर्त सांस्कृतिक धरोहर के रूप में मान्यता प्रदान की गयी है। हिन्दू तीर्थयात्रिओ का विश्वास है कि गंगा, यमुना, एवं अदृश्य सरस्वती के संगम में स्नान करने से समस्त पाप धुल जाते है और इसी आस्था और श्रद्धा के साथ कुम्भ स्नान पर्व सदियों से आयोजित किया जाता रहा है।

Kumbh 2019 gave a new makeover to the holy city Prayagraj. Mela Pradhikaran completely transformed the city with new flyovers, roads, new railway stations, airport and painted walls under the ‘Paint My City’ campaign.
