In recent days, the most prominent news involving a "bottle accident" in Agra refers to a medical emergency rather than a typical road or industrial accident.
Medical Incident: One-Litre Bottle Removal
A 38-year-old man from the Saket Colony area of Agra underwent a complex surgery after a one-litre plastic water bottle became lodged in his re**um.
The man suffered from severe abdominal pain for approximately 36 hours before his family rushed him to Navdeep Hospital.
An X-ray revealed the bottle's location. A team of surgeons, led by senior surgeon Dr. Sunil Sharma, performed a 70-minute (1 hour 10 minutes) emergency operation to successfully remove the object without causing permanent internal damage.
Doctors identified the cause as a psycho-sexual condition known as a**l eroticism, where individuals engage in risky behaviour for stimulation.
The patient was kept under observation for four days, underwent a sigmoidoscopy to check for internal injuries, and was discharged once his condition stabilised.
