The second quarter of the loop of MH Economy focuses on eradicating period poverty and attending to period emergencies.

30% of women say that they’ve had to go to the market mid-office to get a period product because they had an emergency. 56% say that they’re in constant fear of staining around the days of their cycle.

PadCare Vend is a modern and sleek sanitary pad vending machine that caters to the problem of unavailability or inaccessibility of pads at workplaces. It’s installed inside the female lavatory and has a capacity of 50 pads.

Not only does it improve access to the bare essential need that period products are, but also cultivates a more equitable corporate environment. It reduces absenteeism that is observed during menstrual cycles and makes men and women more comfortable with talking about the popularly avoided taboo.

One of the reasons why equitable menstrual hygiene management (MHM) is still a far-fetched dream in India is because we’re failing to realize that the loop of menstrual hygiene economy doesn’t begin with period products, it begins with period education.

Taboos, unhygienic practices, unhealthy period food, PCOD, period leaves - we won’t win the battle unless we come together and talk about the problems faced by women in rural and urban parts of the country.

PadCare is trying to bridge this gap. We hold awareness campaigns wherever our MH products are installed. We also try to engage the youth through virtual and physical college tours. Our blogs, newsletters and many other resources further advance the spirit of safe and hygienic menstrual practices.
