Commission on Higher Education (CHED) confirms that the Philippine Doctor of Medicine (MD) program aligns with the standards set by the Indian NMC. The MD program spans 54 months, followed by a 12-month internship. Graduates—whether Filipino or international—can engage in limited roles such as research or teaching prior to licensure. Upon passing the Philippine Licensure Exam (PLE), they are eligible for full medical practice. Foreign graduates may also pursue medical careers in countries like the US, UK, and Canada without taking the PLE, provided they meet local licensing requirements. CHED emphasizes that the Philippine MD degree holds global competitiveness.
