Sensex and Nifty continued to march upwards, opening with gains on Wednesday morning. The benchmark indices entered Wednesday’s trading session on the back of two days of consecutive gains. S&P BSE Sensex was up over 200 points or 0.54% while the 50-stock Nifty was just shy of the 11,450 mark. Global cues were mixed but analysts had said that Yesterday’s closing levels signals more upside for Nifty 50. Volatility slipped once again while midcap and smallcap stocks once again outperformed benchmarks.

Domestic equity market benchmarks BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 were trading higher on Monday, following the positive global cues. BSE Sensex was up 80 points or 0.22 points to trade at 37,960, while the Nifty 50 was trading above 11,200. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 24 scrips were trading in the positive territory. NTPC was top Sensex gainer, up 2.66 per cent, followed by L&T, Titan Company, ONGC, ITC and Kotak Mahindra Bank. On the contrary, Reliance Industries (RIL) was the top laggard, down 1.54 per cent. Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank and State Bank India (SBI) were the Sensex losers. Barring Nifty Pharma and Nifty PSU Bank indices, all the sectoral indices were trading in the green. NIfty Media jumped over 3 per cent while Nifty Metal was up 1.27 per cent.
