Ralph Teetor, the person who invented the famous Cruise Control system, was actually blind.
Result of an accident that occurred when he was age 5, it never stopped him from pursuing his curiosity thought of a mechanism that could keep the vehicle speed constant in order to save fuel - this later went on to become the first cruise control system called 'Speedostat', which is now known as Cruise Control.
