Just to inform we had a State event and our 12 year old student, Sarah A. secured a bronze in kumite. This a recognized event by Maharashra Olympic Association She broke her nose but stood her ground.
Also a picture of our youngest student 4 yrs old who has been training for past 4 months.
Background
* MKA has got the Maharastra Olympic Association membership which means:
* Winners studying in 10th and 12th grades get 25 marks in their report cards.
* In short Maharastra Olympic Association is a State Government Sports body under Indian Olympic Association
* Senior category winners get preference government jobs
* The participant has to qualify at district level n then gets selected for state level tournament.
* It had 1400 participants from State of Maharashtra.
* The tournament was held in Pune 26th 27th 28th Aug
* Day 1 was referee judging seminar
* Day 2 under 13 yrs event which started morning 9 am ended 12.30 night
* Day 3 above 14 category ending around 10.30 night.
