🌟 PUNECON 2026: A Landmark Event in Otolaryngology! 🌟
What an incredible two days of learning, networking, and surgical brilliance! AOI Pune successfully organized PUNECON 2026 on March 21st & 22nd at the Pune International Centre (PIC), and the energy was truly palpable.
🔪 Day 1: Surgical Mastery & Academic Excellence
The conference kicked off with a high-impact FESS Live Surgery Workshop, streamed live from Jain ENT Hospital. We were honored to have the maestro himself, Dr. Satish Jain, as our chief operating faculty.
Dr. Jain’s passion for teaching transformed complex sinoscopic procedures into masterclasses of efficiency. From radiological assessments and MRI readings to meticulous post-operative care, he empowered every surgeon in the room with newfound confidence.
The afternoon featured the prestigious Dr. W.G. Atre Oration, also delivered by Dr. Satish Jain, followed by our formal Inaugural Ceremony.
🏛️ Honoring Excellence
We were privileged to welcome Prof. Sunil Bhagwat (Director, IISER Pune) as our Chief Guest. His intriguing keynote address highlighted the vital need for interdisciplinary research to bridge the gap between science and technology.
A highlight of the evening was bestowing the Lifetime Achievement Award upon the legendary Dr. Kailash Sant. A senior AOI Pune member, skull base surgeon, otologist, and multi-talented persona—Dr. Sant is a true inspiration to us all.

Day 2 was a "super-duper marathon" of knowledge! The schedule was packed with:

AOI Pune successfully hosted the Positional Vertigo Masterclass today at Saishree Vitalife Hospital, Wakad! 🏥
From "Dizzy" to "Decisive"—nearly 50 delegates spent the day mastering the nuances of BPPV management.
Highlights of the Day:
✅ Expert Insights: Deep dives into vestibular anatomy and nystagmus laws by the legendary Dr. Ramesh Rohiwal and our esteemed faculty: Dr. Swanand Gholap, Dr. Dushyant Khedikar, Dr. Nikhil Gokhale, Dr. Ajinkya Kelkar, and Dr. Rahul Magar.
✅ Clinical Clarity: Differentiating central vs. peripheral vertigo and decoding atypical BPPV patterns.
✅ Hands-on Mastery: Intensive training on canal-specific repositioning maneuvers.

AOI PUNE successfully conducted PACE activity at City International school Kothrud, today .
It was regarding making 9 and 10 th STD students aware about various addiction. how it affects their life and how to stay away from addiction or help others.
274 students attended the activity.
It was good interactive session.
Even a single person out of 274 learns this life's lesson from such avtivity, it's worth conducting it again and again.
Stay away from addiction and adapt healthy lifestyle!

AOI PUNE and ENT Department, Bharati Hospital successfully conducted Rhinoplasty workshop organised at Bharati Hospital

Success of any event lies in team work that's what we have witnessed today.
What an incredible workshop ! 🤩 Dr Virendra Ghaisas, Dr Jyosna Jagtap, and Dr Sai Sai Belsare showcased amazing rhinoplasty techniques. The coordination was superb, and the operative session moderated by Drs. Galagali, Kelkar, Khedikar, Yeolekar, Madkikar, and Gauri mam was excellent. 👏 Teamwork truly made this event a success. Huge thanks to Bharati ENT DEPT & Dr. Sai Belsare!🙏

🌟 Successful Health Check-up Camp Reaches Remote Taldeo in Mahabaleshwar
The Pune ENT Doctor Association (AOI Pune), in association with LIFEPOINT HOSPITAL and Dr. Ashwini Misal,led by Dr Kavita Choudhari,successfully conducted a multi-specialty health check-up camp in the remote village of Taldeo, deep in the interior of Mahabaleshwar.
🎯 Goal and Context
Taldeo is a challenging area to access, with residents relying on infrequent bus services, boats, or taraf (local rafts). The nearest medical services and pharmacies are a significant distance away, forcing residents to travel all the way to Mahabaleshwar even to purchase basic medicines. The primary goal of this initiative was to reach these underserved people who lack close access to essential medical care.
🩺 Services Provided
The camp offered a comprehensive range of free medical services, including:
* ENT Check-ups
* Ophthalmology Check-ups
* Cancer Screening
* Dental Check-ups
* General Health Check-ups
🙌 Community Response and Local Support
The response from the local community was highly encouraging. Despite the recent prolonged rains and their critical field work, residents showed up in great numbers, demonstrating their trust and need for the service.
The success of the camp was largely due to excellent local coordination and arrangements made by NAAM FOUNDATION, Koyana Education Society, and Swaraj Foundation. AOI Pune extends its heartfelt thanks to Mr. Shinde, Mr. D K Jadhav, and Mr. Sanjay Jadhav and their respective teams for their immense efforts in ensuring the camp ran smoothly.
🙏 Acknowledgement and Future Plans
This camp represents the "first baby step" in AOI Pune's larger goal of consistently reaching the needy in remote areas. The association looks forward to continuing this vital work.

Pune ENT Doctors shine at State level Conference MENTCON 2025 at Nagpur

Last weekend state level conference of ENT doctors was organised in Nagpur by Vidarbha AOI Branch
It was attended by 800+ ENT specialists from all over Maharashtra. Pune doctors were almost 50+ in numbers.
Pune doctors participated in various academic and non academic events organised during 3 days of the conference .
I feel proud to share that our Pune doctors got prizes in paper presentations, various innovative talks . They were also invited as panelists in various sessions, chairperson for various symposia etc.

Pune ENT doctors won best branch trophy , the prize was shared with Vidharbha brach.
And cherry on the top was they also bagged First prize in GROUP DANCE PERFORMANCE.

Feel proud that AOI PUNE is reaching that class of students who can't even afford to pay consultation fees.

Celebrates World Geriatric Day 2025 with Nav chaitanya hasya Club senior citizens at Balewadi Pune.
1 st October , celebrated as World Geriatric Day, Aoi Pune celebrated it too by organising an informative, awareness talk on Geriatric related ENT issues like Age related, tinnitus( ringing in ear) and Vertigo( dizziness) as it's responsibility towards as society.
The social stigma around wearing hearing aid was was discussed at stretch.
The need of early treatment and prevention was advised.
AOI PUNE, President Dr Kavita Choudhari spoke on the above topics and Audiologist Ashutosh Dubey , delivered a talk on hearing aids.
AOI PUNE team is thankful to Navchaitanya hasya Club, secretary Mr Mashalkar sir for organising an event at short notice and giving us opportunity to reach out to so many members.
