Baithak Foundation

When Baithak Foundation rolled out its APT Project in Khed and Mangaon Talukas, we were excited to see how children from these geographies respond to traditional music and dance forms. As we interacted with children and teachers during our monthly visits, we realised that the challenges faced by children in these remote schools are somewhat similar to those faced by children in cities.

During our recent visit, many teachers shared that children’s only engagement with music often involves listening to DJs and highly stimulating, loud electronic music. Many children had never seen some of the instruments or dance forms that we presented.

The highlight of this trip was Rudra Veena concerts by Ustad , Kathak concerts by and SoundBox sessions conducted by our team mate . It was heartening to listen to teachers and children spelling out the positive outcomes of this project.
