We are delighted to announce that Prof. Garima Sharma, Kogod School of Business, American University, and Associate Editor, Journal of Management Studies, will lead a plenary session at the Strategic Management Forum (SMF) Conference 2026, themed "Creating Shared Value: Strategy for Competitiveness and Societal Progress," scheduled for December 10-12, 2026, at IIM Ranchi. Her work on organizational tensions, rigor-relevance, and knowledge cocreation has shaped how the field thinks about research impact, and this session pushes that thinking further. The session will be open to all registered participants.

The conference invites research across nine tracks:

IIM Ranchi hosted Day 1 of Management Conclave 2026 on the theme “AI and Organizational Excellence: Innovation, Efficiency and Agility,” bringing together industry leaders to explore how AI is reshaping organisations, leadership, and the future of work.

Chief Guest of the day Mr. Sundeep Singh, MD, Accenture Strategy & Consulting, urged future leaders to embrace the AI revolution while staying BRAVE - Bold, Resilient, Adaptable, Value-centric, and Empathetic. His address was followed by a discussion on his book titled “In the Long Run: Lessons on Resilience, Focus and Finding Yourself Beyond Work”. Mr. Rajeev Pareek, Associate Director - AI & Analytics, Regulatory Compliance, HSBC, highlighted the evolution of analytics and AI agents while stressing human accountability. Mr. Sudarshan Bose, Director - Work & Rewards, WTW, emphasized critical thinking and the need to grow with AI rather than compete against it. Mr. Manas Pratim Bora, Circle Head HR - North-East Circle, Airtel India, discussed AI’s potential in strengthening employee engagement and talent management.

Mr. Lakshay Idiwal, Director, Eloelo, explored AI adoption across e-commerce, fintech, mobility, agentic commerce, and the creator economy. Mr. Arup Roy, Vice President & Distinguished Analyst, Gartner, highlighted the opportunities and challenges of Agentic AI. Mr. Manit Seth, SVP Head of Strategy & Sales Excellence at INCEDO, showed despite AI bringing one of the biggest transformation forces for us - why enterprises are still lagging behind in AI adoption. He laid out Transformation Mindset is key to get ROI from AI @ Scale, where the focus must be on business value first and not just incremental efficiencies gains., while Mr. Sriram Dharmarajan, Sr. Director - Strategy, M&A, Value Creation, EY-Parthenon, underscored AI’s role in enabling faster, better-informed decisions while retaining human judgement and strong governance.

The discussions reinforced that organisational excellence lies not merely in adopting AI, but in using it responsibly and strategically while keeping human values and judgement at the core.

The Management Conclave 2026 will continue with Day 2 on July 25 and Day 3 on August 01, featuring further insightful discussions and perspectives from industry leaders on AI and organisational excellence.

IIM Ranchi successfully concluded the five-day Management Development Programme (MDP) on Project Management and Ex*****on Excellence for Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PUVNL) and National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC Limited) Executives.

The valedictory ceremony was graced by Prof. Deepak Kumar Srivastava, Director, IIM Ranchi; Shri Sivakumar V. Vepakomma, Director (Power System), Solar Energy Corporation of India Ltd. (SECI Limited); Shri Ashok Kumar Sehgal, CEO, PUVNL; Prof. Amit Sachan, Dean, Executive Education & Consulting (EEC), IIM Ranchi; Shri Bishnudutta Dash, GM (Project - Construction), PVUNL; Shri Ziaur Rahman, AGM, PVUNL; and Programme Directors Prof. Nitin Singh and Prof. Manish Bansal, Chairperson, EEC, IIM Ranchi.

The speakers congratulated the participants on successfully completing the programme and highlighted the importance of continuous learning, critical thinking, and stronger industry-academia collaboration in achieving project ex*****on excellence. They appreciated the engaging learning environment, case-based pedagogy, and practical insights shared throughout the five-day programme.

The programme concluded with the presentation of certificates to the participants, followed by the Vote of Thanks delivered by Prof. Singh.
