Rewa Ultra Mega Solar

Sectoral Session on” Opportunities in Renewable Energy Sector in Madhya Pradesh” was held on 11th January 2023 during Global Investor’s Summit 2023, at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore. Shri Sanjay Dubey, Principal Secretary Energy and Renewable Energy Department, GoMP, highlighted the State’s achievements in the sector followed by discussions amongst panel of key sector experts, government sector officials and industry stakeholders.

The session was graced by Hon’ble Minister of New and Renewable Energy and Environment, Shri Hardeep Singh Dang. The Hon’ble Minister promised that utmost support from the state would be provided to the investors for development of renewable energy sector in the state.

MoUs were signed during the event with Rural Electrification Corporation for INR 1,000 cr for financing of Renewable Energy projects within the state.

Madhya Pradesh is innovating and venturing into new technologies such as floating solar and energy storage. Development of 600 MW floating solar project in Omkareshwar dam reservoir is ongoing. Further, Energy Storage based Solar-Wind hybrid projects are being developed as 950 MW project in Chhatarpur and 1400 MW project in Morena districts. Development of three floating solar power projects worth Rs 7,500 crore in reservoirs across the state was proposed.

The Global Investor’s Summit 2023 has witnessed intention to investments worth INR 6 lakh crores in Renewable Energy sector, including intention from key investors such as Tata power, Adani, Renew Power, Avaada Energy, GMR, Greenko, Statkraft and Axis Energy Ventures, etc.

Workshop on DISCOM -DSM is in progress at Bhopal MP, supported by Bureau of Energy Efficiency - ऊर्जा दक्षता ब्यूरो . About 50 Engineers and officers from central DISCOM, bhopal municipal corporation and MPPMCL has attended. Subject experts from across the country . Various energy conservation options have been discussed in the workshop.
