President RECGAA Shri R S Sharma welcomed all the participants i.e. REC Rewa Faculties, Students and Alumni. Discussion on Hirak Jayanti Celebration, Formation of REC Rewa Global Alumni Association and planning of roadmap for contribution of Alumni Association towards the Institute held. Many Seniors as well as Junior Alumni were present. Followings were discussed: (a) Shri R S Sharma former CMD NTPC, Chairman RECGAA highlighted that Alumni Association network should be there and play an active role. Local chapters must be formed at all the places. Programs be published on the Alumni Association’s website. E-Library should have sufficient Journals and a greater number of books and efforts to be made to enhance capacity of E-Library. Efforts be made to establish a brand of REC to attract regular Campus placements. He discussed with the faculties regarding success rate in the GATE and emphasized to enhance the success rate. Also, faculties asked to share old success rates. He suggested for Pavilion Tech show/ expo in the college. He further suggested for celebration of REC-Day every year in the month of July. He emphasized the powerful website of the College and provision for the regular update. (b) Prof (Dr). R P Tiwari and other faculties emphasized that strength of permanent faculties and laboratory staff is a big issue in the College. He appreciated the weekly HJ Talks by the esteemed Alumni about the opportunities, work culture, internships etc. Faculties emphasized for the skill development of the students in Total Station, AutoCAD and DGPS. Further faculties mentioned that Alumni panel for the Interview should be there. Further internship opportunities in surveying and expert lecture of Cement Expert Industry. Faculties also mentioned that sports activities should be enhanced, and proper sports teacher should be placed to encourage sports. Suggestions also given for the opening of technical chapters for all the branches like IRC, IGS, IEEE etc. (c) Shri R S Sharma asked the documents regarding vacant vacancies in pipelines. Alumni suggested that matter be taken up with the Government by the College as well as Alumni to fill the vacant posts at the earliest. Alumni further suggested that advanced laboratories should be set up for quality education of the students. And efforts should be made to capture the campus. (d) Suggestions given for the grand celebration of Hirak Jayanti of REC in the month of November and action needs to be started immediately. The meeting was a great success as many Seniors as well as Junior Alumni were present, and discussions were held in a very cordial environment with great enthusiasm. (e) A team of alumni expressed their desire and keen interest to work for the college magazine. In house talents for Hirak Jayanti celebrations to be explored. Aim is to increase the participation of max Alumni in the Hirak Jayanti Celebration. (f) Members expressed their desire to meet frequently, preferably monthly and strengthen bond among members to work for cause and objectives of association. The meeting ended with a vote of thanks.
